K-9 Obedience Classes

MSAR started offering dog obedience classes to the general public because when our association would put out a call for Therapy Dogs we would get several hundred come out but only 5% would meet the beginning requirements.  Since our outreach programs the Elite K-9 Therapy Dog Program and No-Bite Program needed continual dogs due to expansion and retirement we started to offer courses.

Our association uses Certified Master Dog Trainers and we train on positive re-enforcement and really train the person not the dog. 

When you are looking for a trainer ask the following questions:

• Are you certified and if so with who?
• How long did your certification take?
• Is this your career?
• What type of dogs do you have and could I see one?
• What type of training do you provide and what method?
• How much insurance coverage do you have?
